Our Story.

Kate and Nigel (K&N) independently always had a love of nature and an interest in wildlife. In 2014 they decided to purchase a bee hive and learn how to keep bees which resulted in an ever increasing love of honey bees and the amazing work that they carry out for all of us.

Nestled on the edge of woods in the North Herts countryside near Lilley, Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and Stevenage, our Hertfordshire apiaries provide excellent sheltered locations and good forage for our bees, including Lime tree (Linden), Wildflowers, Hedgerow brambles, Field Beans and Rape flowers.

K&N Honey bees are local bees, reared by us in our own Hertfordshire apiaries giving the bees the best possible chance to succeed, not just for us as beekeepers but also for the colony itself and the amazing beneficial work that they carry out.

Meet the Queen.

The Queen Bee plays a crucial role in the hive, but unlike most monarchs she is not the ruler. However, as the Queen she is constantly attended to by a “court” of worker bees. These workers feed and groom her and the constant care of her attendants enables the queen and the colony of bees to thrive.
